It all started with a desire to start running in order to lose weight. That’s how Cheila began her journey in the world of running, and today she is an ultramarathon runner!!! Discipline is her greatest ally in trying to balance her personal, professional and sporting life. This constancy and discipline is what keeps her motivated, because when she feels she’s not performing, she knows it’s only a matter of time before she gets the results she wants. But she also feels inspired by the achievements of others!!!
Waking up at dawn every day to train and then face a full day of work is almost unanimous among female athletes, and it’s no different for Cheila, who trains 16 hours a week or more.
Her favorite quote is
"Every morning in Africa, the gazelle wakes up. It knows it has to run faster than the fastest lion to survive. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it has to run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter if you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, start running."
